"Northern Hungary" is an administrative county (comitatus or megye) that is located in the north-east of Hungary. It is on the border with Slovakia (the Koice Region). It has borders with the Hungarian counties of Nograd, Heves, Hajd-Bihar, and Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg, which are all in Hungary. To be the capital of the Borsod-Abaj-Zemplen county is to be in Miskolc. It is one of the seven statistical regions of Hungary. Northern Hungary is one of them. When it comes to size (after Bacs?Kiskun), Borsod?Abaj?Zemplen is the second biggest county in Hungary. It has more people than any other county in Hungary (after Pest County). It is the only Hungarian county that has two UNESCO World Heritage Sites in it, which makes it unique (the Caves of Aggtelek Karst and Slovak Karst and the Tokaj Wine Region Historic Cultural Landscape).
