About Indre

Indre is a department in central France that isn't on the water. It's named after the river Indre. Indriens and Indriennes are the names of the people who live in the area. On the west side of Indre, there are two departments: Indre and Loire. To the north of Indre are Loir and Cher, to the east are Cher and Creuse, and to the south of Indre are Loir, Creuse and Haute-Vienne, and then Vienne. Prefecture (capital): Chateauroux. There are three subprefectures at Le Blanc, La Chatre, and Issoudun, and they all have their own prefecture (office).
