Heredia is a city in Costa Rica. It is in the middle of the country. It is because of this that the province covers a wide range of places, from the Northern Plains, where farming is big, to the cities of the Central Valley, like Heredia. It has a lot of places that are important to the environment, like the Braulio Carrillo National Park and the Sarapiqui River. In the capital city, Heredia, there is a lot of government work.
Nicaragua is to the north, Limon is to the east, San Jose is to the south, and Alajuela to the west.
Heredia is a district in the Heredia canton of the province of Heredia in Costa Rica, and it is part of the Heredia province. City: Heredia canton is the seat of the municipality, so it is given the title of city. Because it is the city of the first canton, it is also the Province Capital of Heredia province, as well. A city called San Jose is about 10 kilometres north of the city.
People from all over the world come to Costa Rica to study at the National University of Costa Rica, which is one of the biggest in the country.
