Dajabon is a province in the northwest of the Dominican Republic. It is one of the 32 provinces of the country. Dajabon is on the Dajabon River, which is also known as the Massacre River because of an event that happened in 1728. In that event, 30 French pirates were killed by Spaniards. During the Parsley Massacre, a group of people were killed. The name came to be known after that.
